Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is responsible for managing our operations department to provide outstanding service through leading with passion and love for beverage, our customers, team members and business partners. The Director will partner strategically with all functions of the Company to provide strategic leadership and direction to create raving employees and customers for life.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Lead with PASSION - Leading an operations department of 12 employees that manage wide-ranging aspects of the manufacturing and commercialization process such as formulations, demand planning, warehousing of materials, inventory control, R&D, quality control, account management, and co-packer development
  • LMA (Lead, Manage and hold Accountable) of Project Managers of Product Development, Supply Chain Analysts, and Production Planners through implementation and maintenance of “Best Practice” processes, enhance teamwork, accountability, and developing beverage expertise to grow the department 
  • You and your team are responsible for building raving relationships with customers, co-packers, suppliers, and internal departments
  • Develop thorough knowledge of co-packer and supplier networks    
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize beverage industry knowledge – You and your team are the experts!
  • Maintain a high standard of service for all clients
  • Establish and monitor departmental KPIs to drive best practices and exceed expectations
  • Develop, maintain and grow top client relationships which includes routine traveling
  • Lead and Manage weekly Department meetings to align activities with business goals and objectives
  • Provide line of sight to your team by communicating a clear Vision which will be achieved through the execution of department objectives
  • Ensure department objectives are aligned with the organizations objectives as detailed in the organization objectives and the 1 and 3 year plans
  • Manage the P&L for the operations department and continue to look for ways to increase revenue and decrease expenses
  • Execute a proactive approach to planning client production needs
  • Ensure team addresses slow moving and problem inventory in a timely and professional manner
  • Review all cost modeling for accuracy prior to final presentation
  • Manage customer claims as needed to drive results in a timely manner
  • Drive opportunities within NetSuite ERP to streamline processes, create efficiencies, and ensure the appropriate use of the system
  • Execute a continuous improvement program for operations functions 
  • Ensure proper department training is in place including in-depth beverage knowledge
  • Ensure Core Processes are defined and documented to deliver superior customer service
  • Build and execute personnel capacity plan
  • Actively communicate all innovation ideas to Sales team
  • Serve as main point of escalation for supply chain questions and any major account issues
  • Manage the hiring process which includes reviewing resumes, new-hire assessments, conducting face-to-face interviews, and making hiring decisions

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent required
  • 5-7 years’ minimum experience in business operations or professional services
  • 5 years minimum supervisory or management experience
  • Passionate about coaching and development
  • Proven track record of developing, engaging and inspiring people to achieve superior results
  • Dedication to department high quality customer service delivery and integrity through proven client and customer relationships
  • Proven track record of excellence in client management with quality service 
  • Strategic thinker with financial acumen to grow the business while maintaining and retaining current business
  • Proven success in hiring the best talent and effectively managing team performance
  • Customer service driven with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with Senior Executives, Entrepreneurs and Business Owners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and employees with the ability to prioritize
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • Ability to effectively manage a cross-functional team
  • Strong training and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with close deadlines
  • Based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro with up to 15% travel required, including ability to work nights and weekend when traveling (international travel may be required)
  • Experience with EOS process a plus.
