General Manager & Marketing Strategist at The Lab

The General Manager & Marketing Strategist will be responsible for managing the reopening of The Lab taproom through driving a RAVING consumer experience and brand management including strategic marketing. This individual will partner with cross-functional stakeholders in the Pilot Facility and Sales teams to align, establish and improve brand experience. This person will be deeply involved in creating local partnerships and a presence within the Twin Cities through hosting industry events, live music, and networking opportunities. This person is the marketing EXPERT and should truly enjoy networking and building long-lasting relationships with an entrepreneurial spirit. THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION until NOVEMBER 15, 2021, at which time future status of the position and business opportunity will be further evaluated.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Lead, manage, and hold Taproom Lead accountable for taproom including LMA of part-time staff, FOH inventory, and online apps
  • Coordinate and manage events happening under The Shed including live music, industry events, BBIB, etc.
  • Market and prospect to companies for team meetings and private events to host
  • Lead the achievement of short-, mid- and long-term growth goals by developing and implementing marketing strategies to drive a volume of qualified partnership opportunities
  • Build brand reputation and visibility with industry experts
  • Coordinates cross-functional input, deliverables, timelines, and communicate properly documented progress and issues of campaigns to senior leadership
  • Accountable for beer in the pipeline and collaboration opportunities in conjunction with the pilot facility brewing team
  • Manage COGS, P&L budget and labor numbers for taproom
  • Manage social media accounts for The Lab including partnered campaigns with local brewers and creators
  • Develop, manage and execute PR programs to advance communications and brand engagement
  • Provide strategic communications and guidance on taproom reopening and future operations
  • Measure and optimize consumer engagement across different channels
  • Manage digital operations including content creation, deployment, testing and reporting
  • Research consumer preferences, competitors and market trends and opportunities
  • Work to meet all sales targets, plan sales strategies, analyze sales data, and work to expand sales
  • Resolve customer problems and handle customer complaints
  • Develop sales and customer loyalty by fostering a culture of customer service excellence
  • Maintain awareness in market changes and adjust marketing strategies accordingly
  • Direct, plan and oversee the marketing strategies of the taproom products and services
  • Act as subject matter expert to leadership on issues relating to effective marketing
  • Oversee staff operations, business planning, staff and advertising budget development
  • Develop and order branded merchandise
  • Attend local industry events and represent The Lab
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 8+ years’ experience in B2C/B2B marketing
  • Ability to bring brands to life in innovative ways across digital and other media channels
  • High energy to represent the personality of BevSource, The Lab, and ownership
  • History of driving continuous customer and prospective customer engagement
  • Proven experience in driving marketing’s contribution to revenue
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering business results
  • High integrity and character with emphasis on attention to details with robust organization skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working with key stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing principles and strategies
  • Proven ability to plan and implement marketing campaigns
  • Strong foundation in brand and business strategy
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with a strong sense of urgency; self-directed to accomplish assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where innovation and creativity is essential, and priorities shift frequently
  • Ability to motivate and influence others by displaying strong leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Previous brewery, restaurant FOH, retail experience encouraged
