The Director of Distribution Services is responsible for creating and implementing strategies, plans and a structure that will create a team whose objectives are customer retention and increased customer loyalty satisfaction. The Director of Distribution Services is a key department leader within the company that is responsible for managing the Distribution Services Manager and Customer Experience Manager that oversee a team of Sales Administrators, Material Planners, and Logistics Coordinators to through the raw material ordering and distribution process of making a beverage, while providing outstanding service to clients and suppliers. This Director will partner closely with both the Director of Purchasing and Director of Sales and report to the VP of Distribution.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- LMA (Lead, Manage, hold Accountable) for a team of 8 and growing through implementation and maintenance of “Best Practice” processes, enhanced teamwork, KPI’s, standards of accountability, and utilization of EOS
- Oversee department accountable for managing the distribution of raw materials from suppliers from order administration through product delivery
- Accountable for the vision and strategy of distribution services that delivers business value in alignment with company vision
- Develops and implements strategies to increase quality, reduce cost and complexity, increase efficiency, and is accountable for decisions associated with distribution services
- Develop and drive department initiatives, promote the company and department vision, manage expectations of the team, and remove obstacles
- Define and monitor performance of customer satisfaction metrics and ensure continuous improvement programs are in place exceed our customers’ expectations
- Analyze, implement, and improve purchasing processes and delivery systems to lead continuous process improvement for the team
- Manage and direct employees including managing performance reviews, setting compensation, developing personal development plans, and day to day performance management
- Maintain consistently high customer and supplier satisfaction levels and create raving BevSource partners for life
- Ensure that KPI’s are established, monitored, and exceeded
- Provide continuous recommendations on process improvement, category assignments, and strategic department growth
- Support, guide, and mentor employees through complex problem solving
- Provide line of sight to the team by communicating a clear Vision which will be achieved through the execution of specific department objectives
- Ensure proper training is in place for departments for new hires and ongoing
- Manage the hiring process with HR which includes reviewing resumes, conducting face-to-face interviews, and making hiring decisions
- Utilize NetSuite MRP software and systems effectively
- Other duties as assigned
WHO YOU ARE:
- You have a bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent of 4+ years of related professional experience
- You live in Minnesota and are comfortable in a hybrid working environment at home and in the Saint Paul office with your team ~3 days per week
- You have 10+ years of experience in purchasing, customer service, supply chain, or related field
- You have 5+ years people management experience, team of at least 4 people preferred
- You have experience in the food and beverage industry or consumer packaged goods
- You have experience with order management and tracking systems and routing customer deliveries
- You have a proven ability to lead, inspire and influence a team
- You have a strong focus on implementing and tracking performance metrics
- You are enthusiastic about the future of beverage and your excitement is contagious
- You are passionate and customer service driven with strong, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
- You have a proven track record of successful supplier relationships
- You are a strategic and critical thinker with a proven record of success in expanding company objectives and exceeding business goals
- You have strong MRP/ERP software understanding and skills, NetSuite preferred
- You can analyze existing processes and identify more efficient ways to accomplish goals and meet customer and client requirements; ability to continuously improve processes through regular assessment and adjustment
- You are willing and flexible to travel up to 15% of the time and can work nights and weekends when traveling
